Hello and welcome!
My name is Jocelyn. I created this blog/community to have a place where I could share my story, lessons learned, experiences and knowledge with you and besides that just share with you my ordinary day to day life! While my life is pretty amazing these days...it hasn't always been this way for me.
I have been on a mission over the past few years to change the way I relate to mind, body, spirit & food and perhaps life in general... moving towards a more simplistic and holistic living lifestyle. I have come to embrace my own style of simplicity and it has had a huge impact on every area of my life.
Throughout my life I have experienced many trials and tribulations, from experiencing burn out at a young age, childhood trauma, living with a prolonged eating disorder, body image issues, to suffering from many food sensitivities, digestive and hormonal issues, social anxiety and depression. Yikes...that sounds like a lot doesn't it??
I have learned that there is always a silver lining to dark times and now I am using my life experiences in the hopes of helping others and to let you know that you are not alone in your own struggles.
I am a recreation therapist (College grad - Conestoga College) and currently in school for Holistic Nutrition (Canadian School of Natural Nutrition). I am passionate about embracing a simple and slower holistic lifestyle in all ways for happiness, mental and physical health. I enjoy nourishing myself and those around me with simple and fulfilling food and recipes that make me feel good and that are also good for my body and my brain.
Sometimes...by getting back to the basics and embracing meaningful moments we realize what is and is no longer important.
I hope that I can provide some sort of value, inspiration and encouragement for you on your own healing journey - whatever that may look like for you. We all heal differently and we are all on our own unique path but may we hold space for one another and provide encouragement for one another. I believe that a slower, simplistic and more intentional lifestyle can be so beneficial to every single one of us.
So grab a cuppa, get cozy and lets have a chat! Welcome to my little world. I would love to get to know your story!
